Surfing in Recreio
Hey sweet thangs! I have been a busy bee this last week so my apologies on not keeping the blog updated. My friend Leah came to visit this past week. She lives in São Paulo which is about a 6 hour drive away. She really wanted to surf so we headed to Recreio, which is a famous surf beach in Barra. It was a bit of a mission to get there and we went on one of the coldest, stormiest days I’ve seen since I arrived. I wasn’t planning of surfing. I’d always wanted to try but never sought it out. I figured I was just along for the adventure. But when both the surf instructor and Leah asked me why I didn’t want to join … I knew if was one of those things I would regret not doing. The opportunity was right there! So I did it and it was so much fun! We went back two days later on a less stormy day and surfed more. I am so excited to have tried something new. It’s definitely something I would love to get better at. Feeling like part of the ocean and riding a wave is even more enjoyable than I had imagined. I can see why people become addicted to it.
Oi gatinhas! Eu tenho sido uma abelha ocupada esta semana passada, então minhas desculpas por não manter o blog atualizado. Minha amiga Leah veio me visitar na semana passada. Ela mora em São Paulo, que fica a cerca de 6 horas de carro. Ela queria surfar, então fomos para o Recreio, que é uma famosa praia de surfe na Barra. Foi uma missão para chegar lá e passamos em um dos dias mais frios e tempestuosos que eu vi desde que cheguei. Eu não estava planejando surfar. Eu sempre quis tentar, mas nunca procurei. Eu pensei que estava na aventura só. Mas quando o instrutor de surfe e Leah me perguntaram por que eu não queria participar ... eu sabia que se era uma daquelas coisas que eu me arrependeria de não fazer. A oportunidade estava aí! Então eu fiz e foi muito divertido! Nós voltamos dois dias depois em um dia menos tormentoso e surfamos mais. Estou tão animada por ter tentado algo novo. É definitivamente algo que eu adoraria melhorar. Sentir-se como parte do oceano e surfar uma onda é ainda mais agradável do que eu imaginava. Eu posso ver porque as pessoas se tornam viciadas nisso.
