Fall?

¡Hola!

Fall has hit a bit early. This morning I checked the temperature and it was 57ºF (about 13ºC)! It was so hot you could barely think just a couple weeks ago. I can’t believe how quickly the temperature has dropped. Right on cue, I have early onset winter blues. This seems to happen to me every year right as Summer fades into Fall. The anticipation of the long cold and dark Winter casts a little shadow on my mood. I have quite a few transitions happening at the start of October and I think nervous/excited energy surrounding that is also affecting me. One door closes and at least a few more open in tandem. Change is always a bit daunting, but after the mist clears and your path sprawls out ahead of you, what once seemed unsure feels right and destined. I have lived to tell the tale! Happy for yet another chapter!

I love the city, but this small town girl will always crave wide open spaces and some peace & quiet! I decided to give into my craving this week and took a trip to the desert. Luckily it's only a three hour drive. It's so nice to have my scenery change so drastically with just a couple hours in the car. That's the appeal of California I suppose! Everything is at your fingertips.

P.S. The whales made it safely out of the channel. Apparently they weren't in a big hurry to leave even when the tide went up. Marine biologists that were watching their behavior said that they were likely cleaning barnacles off of themselves on the sand. Happy ending!
