Weekend

What a perfect weekend! I flew back from a work trip on Thursday and arrived just in time to get my booty to Brooklyn to meet Chichi, Jasmine and Missy for dinner at Colonia Verde. The next day we made dinner together and then headed to a couple bars/dance spots in Crown Heights and Bed-Stuy. My favorite was a spot that played oldies in with a nice back patio and laid-back vibes. We definitely got our dancing in - see blurry photo above. Saturday we all woke up a little worse for wear, except Chichi who apparently doesn’t get hangovers!? I wishhhh. And today, Sunday, was my first full day working at the spa! I did five facials today, three of which were on men. Before today I had only given one man a facial - my roommate Jangis who I don’t think had ever had one before. I had a really fun time and my first client of the day rebooked me for next month! It was a nice start to the day. I go back tomorrow for another three facials that I have scheduled. It feels really good to put these skills to use and make them my own. It is also very fun to have access to all these amazing products and get to tailor-make facials depending on the skins’ needs. I am feeling fulfilled :)

Que fim de semana perfeito! Voltei de uma viagem de trabalho na quinta-feira e cheguei bem a tempo de levar minha bunda ao Brooklyn para encontrar Chichi, Jasmine e Missy para jantar no Colonia Verde. No dia seguinte, fizemos o jantar juntos e depois fomos a alguns bares / locais para dançar em Crown Heights e Bed-Stuy. Meu favorito era um local que tocava músicas antigas com um belo pátio nos fundos e vibrações descontraídas. Nós definitivamente começamos nossa dança - veja a foto embaçada acima. No sábado todos nós acordamos um pouco pior para o desgaste, exceto Chichi que aparentemente não tem ressaca !? Eu desejohhh. E hoje, domingo, foi meu primeiro dia inteiro de trabalho no spa! Fiz cinco tratamentos faciais hoje, três dos quais em homens. Antes de hoje eu só tinha dado ao homem um tratamento facial - meu colega de quarto Jangis, que eu acho que nunca teve um antes. Eu me diverti muito e meu primeiro cliente do dia me remarcou para o próximo mês! Foi um bom começo de dia. Volto amanhã para mais três tratamentos faciais que agendei. É muito bom colocar essas habilidades em uso e torná-las minhas. Também é muito divertido ter acesso a todos esses produtos incríveis e poder fazer tratamentos faciais sob medida, dependendo das necessidades das peles. Estou me sentindo realizada :)

Laguna Beach

Hello there! These photos were taken a couple weeks ago in Laguna Beach with some of my babely San Diego friends. I met Anna, Lauren, and Marina there after my breakfast shift on Saturday (so nice that I'm done by 11:00 or 12:00) and we had a fun and sun-filled afternoon. Afterwards we headed to Urth Cafe and grubbed out. I hadn't been there in so long! Lauren and I split the butternut squash pizza and a salad. So good! Afterwards, Marina and Lauren came back up to Long Beach with me and we got ready for my friend Leo's Halloween party. We took so many silly videos that night but no pictures! The next morning the girls came into my work to have brunch and I joined them when I was done. It was such a nice weekend! It's actually been pretty cold here in Long Beach and I'm missing that heatwave that had me at the beach just a few weeks ago! I'm ready for summer already! I have a very full week coming up and I need to get some stuff in order to make it all go smoothly so have a lovely night and I'll update you soon!

Silver Dollar Fair

It's become tradition in my friend group to go in a big posse to the Silver Dollar Fair in Chico, and despite moving to LA last year, I've managed to make it every year for the festivities. There's something magical about the junk food, the janky rides, and warm summery nights.

Living For the Weekend

Hi babes! I had a bit of a rough week. I got really sick at work on Wednesday and left early.  I was out of commision Thursday too but was back by Friday. I decided to cut my cleanse short because I'm not sure if the herbal pills I was taking were the cause. Either that or they were working and I just really needed to be cleansed haha.  Friday night I hung out with Jackson on the couch and watched Love & Basketball and The Notebook back to back. Whatever channel that was, thank you ;). Saturday I did laundry, cleaned, visited a really cool plant nursery near my house that is only open one day a week, and then went on a lovely adventure with Carolina. Afterwards, she came over for a girls' wine/pizza/sleepover night  with my roommate and some of her friends as well. Today I went to dance class and then caught up on some work so I'm not behind tomorrow after missing a couple days. If only Monday was part of the weekend ... life would be perfect.

Flea Market

My friend Stevi was in town this weekend from New York City and I spent a very fun 24 hours with her and Carolina. On Sunday, the three of us explored the Long Beach Flea Market before an essential trip to In-N-Out. I'll show you the things I got at the market soon!
