Home

Boa tarde my sweets! Today is my second day off and it has been a very productive 'weekend' on the home decor front. I had three big tasks to take care of: 1. repot SIX plants (some were new and some had outgrown their pots) 2. assemble my NEW COUCH (loveseat), and 3. repaint the frames of the four paintings I got at the flea market last month. I can check them all off my list! I'm just waiting for the frames to dry in the backyard right now. It was quite windy today and getting the newspaper to not blow away was a feat, as well as getting the spray to not just blow into the wind. I accidentally painted a little of my adidas slides because the wind was blowing my direction at one point. But if they're going to be any color, I'm happy they're a little gold! My plans for the rest of the evening are to go see a movie kind of late. I may be a bit sleepy for work tomorrow.

Glow Baby

This shirt was one of my steals from Carlos One Night Stand, one of my favorite vintage stores ever located in the Hip Strip in Missoula. I got the pants recently as well from TJ Maxx. A special thanks to the pond, the setting sun, and little Hazel for making these photos possible ;).

Run Wild

My cousin April is training for a half marathon next month and I've been tagging along on her runs. Usually I run alongside her with the stroller and my nephew, which adds a little extra exercise, but today his dad took him so I got to do the whole run hands free! It felt so good! We cut through a field with a gorgeous pond and wildflowers everywhere. There's nothing quite like this fresh mountain air!

Upper Park

Here is a little flashback to a day in the sun and water with my friend Acacia and her puppy. Upper Park is the upper half of Bidwell Park that runs through Chico and up into the hills. It frames a creek that travels through town. Lower Park is lush and green with a tight-knit canopy that keeps the vines and moss green below. Upper Park on the other hand has dry, rustling blonde grass and a canyon of lava rocks where the creek runs through. The water was still pretty cold - it warms up in July - but we managed to swim upstream a bit and have a little picnic and sunbath on a little rock ledge. I've taken so many photos this month that it's hard to find time to upload them all! I love this 'problem'!

Chiquito

Summer is magical and I am gulping it down.

I feel really lucky to be in Chico, my hometown #2, at this pivotal moment when the creeks are warming and the college students have left. Us locals get to take over what is rightfully ours ;). The sun is warm on some days, perfect for walks in the park under the epic oaks. And other days it's hot, perfect for whole afternoons spent at swimming holes.

Summer is medicine and I am gulping it down.

Desert Dessert

A few weekends ago I went on a little day trip to the desert. I just needed some silence and solitude. I love me some city, but I can't live without my nature. There is something so magical about the desert and its muted shades. No harsh hues but lots of snarled cacti that will insert themselves in your feet via your open-toed sandals ... BEWARE ;).

Oh Hi

Bodysuit - Gift / Jeans - Flea Market / Shoes - Circus by Sam Edelman

Here it is, late/mid February and you haven't heard a peep out of me since December. It's been a crazy couple months - full of transitions and shifting of winds. I am headed to New Orleans this week for Mardi Gras so I'm pretty sure that will be my next post. Should be a good one ;).

Sábado Gigante

StyleWe.com was kind enough to send me this top, along with a slip dress that I will feature soon.

Hey hey. I haven't been very good at keeping up with the blog the last couple weeks - sorry! I have been in a bit of a lull, probably somewhat related to the rainy weather, but I know LA/California needs it. I had a really great weekend last week though. I went out with some friends in Long Beach Saturday night. First stop was a gorgeous bar with high ceilings and chandeliers that had a speakeasy below ground. You literally had to knock on a door and give a password to enter the bar - all moody lighting and red velvet. On Sunday I spent the whole day with my brother at Disneyland. Tonight I'm staying in and taking a break from the hustle and bustle.  I'm on a cleanse for the next few weeks that includes six Chinese herbal pills every morning and prohibits me from drinking alcohol or coffee and eating sugar or fried foods. No partying for me until my friends' wedding!

SoCal So Good

Like my cheesy title? ;) I've been antsy to share tidbits from my weekend because it was OH so good. It deserves documentation. Saturday afternoon I drove a little South and met up with my childhood friend Ryan who lives only about 30 minutes from me.  He took me to this super dope brunch spot in Newport where you get free bottomless mimosas when you order off the brunch menu ... SUCH a steal! After catching up over chicken & waffles and eggs benedict, we sauntered on over to the beach and swam! Highlight of my life! I haven't been full-on swimming, diving under ocean waves since Rio, and something in my soul was screaming Hallelujah!!! Ugh, so good. Usually it feels too cold, maybe it was the champagne haha, or maybe it actually was warmer. That night we drove into Downtown LA and went to an improv comedy show that was awesome. Sunday was less packed, but after a day like that, a relaxing day is perfect. I chilled at home until the evening when I got dinner with my friend Dani in Long Beach.

Old friends & new adventures. I'm so down.

xoxo
